I will say this at the outset; I believe in MuleSoft certification and I believe that any company hiring MuleSoft developers should expect them to be certified.

I am certified and will continue to renew my certification regularly as long as I work in this space. That said…

MuleSoft certification does not a Mule Whisperer make!

We should think of certification the same way ninjas think about their belts. When you start practising ninjutsu, you get a white belt; this signifies that you  know nothing.

Once you pass your first assessment, you earn a green belt — and you will wear that green belt through nine levels until you earn that coveted black belt.

To borrow from a great politician, that black belt is not the end of your journey; it is not even the beginning of the end. Rather, it is the end of the beginning. In ninjutsu, a black belt signifies that you have learned the basic principles and that you are now equipped to embark on your journey toward becoming a true ninja.

MuleSoft certification is your black belt. It is the starting point in your journey. It means that you have acquired the minimum basic skill-set; it means you are now equipped to embark on your voyage of discovery.

Wishing you every success as you learn the Way of the Mule — and become a Whisperer!
